The Tour

Tones that slowly unfold, lines that leave space – the Mathis Everding Quintet stands for a modern, transparent jazz sound that thrives on atmosphere and subtlety. Inspired by the aesthetics of the renowned ECM label, the four musicians create an acoustic tension between calm and movement, structure and freedom.

The focus is on the compositional work of guitarist Mathis Everding. His pieces are partly deliberately reduced, partly complex and multi-layered, they allow room for improvisation, take their time and demand listening. Together, they create an ensemble sound that aims not for mere virtuosity, but for depth, texture and musical narrative power.

Guitar (Mathis Everding), piano (Noah Reis-Ramma), double bass (Genevieve O'Driscoll), trumpet (Elias Brieden) and drums (Alex Parzhuber) combine to create an open sound space in which composition and improvisation meet on equal terms. The quintet's pieces thrive on detail, on playing with silence and structure – music that breathes and lingers.
