The Winner is ... EVA SWIDERSKI
The winner of the YOUNG JAZZ TALENT AWARD 2024 . VOCALS ONLY was chosen on April 26, 2024 at the Jazz Schmiede, Düsseldorf.
24-year-old Eva Swiderski won over the majority of the jury votes thanks to her self-confident, experimental and technically outstanding vocals and excellent interplay with the band; her stage presence was outstanding. The pieces she performed with great confidence were Insomnia, an extremely experimental composition of her own, Prelude to a kiss by Duke Ellington and Weaver of Dreams by Victor Young.
Eva is studying in the eighth semester at the HfMT in 2024. Cologne University of Music and Dance – Bachelor's degree program “Music . Jazz/Pop”, majoring in jazz singing, with lessons from Prof. Anette von Eichel and Susanne Schneider.

Eva Swiderski – born 2000 in Berlin – is studying in her final semester at the HfMT . Cologne University of Music and Dance in May 2024. Originally coming from classical piano, her path as a singer led her through several big bands, including Landes Jugend Jazz Orchester Berlin, Bundes Jazz Orchester, Orchestre National de Jazz (FR). With her FLINTA* Band Ever Evolving she played at the renowned Cologne Klaeng Festival. In 2023 she won the Future Music Competition of the German Music Council with her composition “Insomnia”. Most recently, during her Erasmus semester (2024) at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, she met British singing legend Elaine Delmar and received lessons from Brigitte Beraha and Scott Stroman. She was also able to join the London Vocal Project (directed by Pete Churchill).
CONCERT TOUR OF THE WINNER
In fall 2024 – in the period 14 – 21.09.2024 - Eva Swiderski will perform with her band in Düsseldorf, Bielefeld, Cologne and Oldenburg.
